Ride Back 01

HELL YEAH.

There's not even any point in complaining that the entire first half is slow as hell, since that is what every damn anime in the world does, and I don't think they padded it all that much, anyway.

The moment the first Ride Back pokes it's head out the door, things start moving, and before you know it the show has become absolutely exhilarating.
Spectacular first episode, damn glad they're doing the manga justice.

  1. CEL-ANIMATED CHARACTER RIDING THE CGI MECH TOUCHES ME IN THE BAD PLACE

But I will check it out anyway.

  2. Blends better in motion than in these caps. This isn't Gonzo, after all - actually looks decent, and lets them do some pretty nice camera moves.

  3. Joe's just been traumatized by Gonzo and will never be able to love again.

Farewell, remorse! all good to me is lost; Evil, be thou my good.

  5. Does the manga expand on the workings and history of the world government? The biggest issue for me throughout this first episode is that the exposition didn't give me anything that a synopsis wouldn't.

  6. Man, I did not remember much about the early manga.
Just went back, and they're largely unrelated; the manga has a three page narration about her childhood and her mother, and then drops her in the Ride Back shed; she moves around slowly on it with no technical difficulties until they run into some riot police clashing with student demonstrators and she ends up vaulting over them to get away.
