Holy shit I've been out of the loop for a while. I watched the first four episodes last night in one sitting and can't wait to see this one. It's nice to see some colorful, fun animated stuff that doesn't take itself seriously after months of bullshit analysis of older films for classes.
ReplyDeleteIt's obviously channeling Giant Robo, but as much as I'm enjoying Mazinger, I still can't completely think of it as the spiritual successor to Giant Robo yet. It ain't the same without the round retro designs and the Masamichi Amano music. But that don't matter too much, as Mazinger is fucking awesome in its own chaotic right.
Didn't like this episode at all. The Photon Beam was pretty awesome, but the recap pissed me off and they were overall just wasting a lot of time.
