Japan still has it

What the fuck IS this!? Looks like the best cinematic folly since Southland Tales.

  1. So, Andrew, I couldn't help but notice that Tokyopop has suddenly released Gosick book 2. I was confused as hell, and when I looked inside a copy at my local bookstore, the 'translator' and 'English adaption' fields in the credits list had been left curiously blank.

Do you know anything? Were you a part of it at all?

  2. See the Boogiepop comments thread.
Apparently I'm only credits in the Library of Congress summary.

  3. I've more or less been a fan of Sono's more peculiar works for some years now but I still couldn't bring myeelf to endure this monstrous 4 hours. I know I must do this someday... but I guess that will be the single occasion where I'll make sure I'm as drunk as a fish.

  4. Yeah I'd kill to see this.
Part of it is because it features music from an awesome psychedelic rock band Yura Yura Teikoku. Though unfortunately broke up a couple days back after a great two decade run.
Live version of song in trailer:

The other...well it's Sion Sono AND four freaking hours.

  6. Ahh yes, this. Been meaning to try and track this down for a while. I think Evil Pimp Ride With Parakeet is my favorite shot.
