The problem with Japanese trailers

They will, at some point, slap a sappy pop song over the thing.

Even if doing so makes a weird ass horror movie (based on an Otsu Ichi story) briefly look like a romance between a 6th grade boy and a FUCKING ZOMBIE.

  1. If that's the worst thing about Japanese trailers, the worst thing about the movies themselves is that there will come a scene where the sappy pop song fits perfectly with the tone and content, no matter what the movie's based on or what it was like up until that point.

That said I do think a 6th grade boy/zombie love story would much be much more interesting than another crap teen horror movie, even one based on an Otsu Ichi story.

  2. I have to admit that based on the acting and production values evidenced in the trailer, the love story pitch would probably be more successful than a straight-up horror film.
